The two-day 3rd JIB Global Skills Showcase dubbed “Christmas in October” opened at the SM City Davao Event Center on October 18, 2010. Instead of the traditional ribbon-cutting, the event was formally opened by the cutting of the bread ceremony led by (l-r) JIB Foundation Chair Joji Ilagan Bian, ABS CBN Broadcasting Corporation Restaurant 9501 managing director Chef Ms. Myrna Dizon Segismundo, Davao Tourism Association’s Susan Palad and Indonesian Consulate acting chief of mission Consul Sukar Sono.
The event treated Dabawenyos and other visitors not only to a culinary showcase and competition, but also an exhibition, tastings and demonstrations. Guests were also given tips to successfully creating a culinary dish.
